At its upfronts presentation, Netflix ordered two new series: “All the Sinners Bleed” and “The Body.”

“All the Sinners Bleed” is a nine-episode TV adaptation of S.A. Cosby’s thriller novel of the same name. “Haunted by his past in the FBI and his devout mother’s untimely death, the first Black Sheriff in a small Bible Belt County must lead the hunt for a serial killer that has quietly been preying on Black communities in Southern Virginia for years in the name of God,” the logline reads.

“Black Panther” co-writer Joe Robert Cole will serve as showrunner and direct the premiere and several other episodes. Executive producers include Cosby, Amblin Entertainment and Higher Ground. Netflix and Higher Ground have worked together on the sports docuseries “Starting 5,” “Bodkin,” “Leave the World Behind,” “American Symphony,” “Rustin” and “Working: What We Do All Day.”

“The Body” is a coming of age drama created by Quinn Shephard. “After a dance-team initiation gone wrong, a group of badly behaved Catholic school girls begin having prophetic visions that set off mass hysteria in their town,” reads the description.

Shephard serves as the creator and showrunner and will direct the premiere and additional episodes. Executive producers include Amy Israel, Peter Chernin, and Josh Stern for North Road and Riley Keough, Gina Gammell, and Sacha Ben Harroche for Felix Culpa. Netflix and Chernin Entertainment recently collaborated on “Back in Action,” “The Madness,” the upcoming thriller “Apex,” “11817,” the latest “Fear Street” movie,” the upcoming “Man on Fire” series and the forthcoming adaptation of “The Age of Innocence.”
