Peacock has renewed “Nelly and Ashanti: We Belong Together” for a second season. Production will begin this month, and the new season is set to air later this year.

The news comes following the first season of the show’s successful June 2025 debut, with the series becoming Peacock’s second highest-reaching unscripted original freshman series.

“Nelly and Ashanti: We Belong Together,” starring the titular superstar music couple, gives audiences a behind the scenes look at the iconic duo’s high-profile lives. The two, who married in 2023, are now the parents of a toddler, meaning they’ll have to balance their careers and business ventures with navigating their blended family. “This season offers an intimate look at their next chapter as they navigate love, family and global careers,” reads the official logline.

Nelly and Ashanti first met more than two decades ago when they began dating in 2003. While they quietly broke up and reunited in the time since, as of 2026, the two have solidified themselves as a musical power couple. They welcomed their son, KK, in July 2024.

The “Hot In Here” rapper first released his debut solo single in 2000, and has gone on to sing hits including “Ride Wit Me,” “Dilemma” and “Just a Dream.”  He’s been nominated for 12 Grammy Awards, and has won three. Ashanti debuted as a solo artist with “Foolish” in 2002, and went on to earn eight Grammy nominations and one win over the course of her career. She also acted in the 2006 rom-com “John Tucker Must Die.”

Both Nelly and Ashanti executive produce, alongside Tina Douglas, J Erving, Rebecca Quinn, Jennifer O’Connell, Nick Alarcon, Steve Michaels, Simon Thomas, Ariel Brozell, Oji Singletary and Asabi Lee. This season is produced by Pantheon Media Group and Velvet Hammer Media.
