Independent film producer Niels Juul, whose credits include “Ferrari” and “Killers of the Flower Moon,” is ramping up operations and setting up an office in Rome as well as a base in Denmark.
Flush with a cash injection into his outfit by U.K. and Swedish investors, Juul recently hired Christelle Conan, formerly with Ingenious Media, as head of its financing and sales operation, and Alan Cohen, a veteran finance exec at Warner Bros., as the company’s CFO and financial controller, respectively.
They will be joining No Fat Ego in addition to the current development team comprising Kelsey Kummerl, who heads up NFE’s Los Angeles office, and Thomas Ernst, who will lead the base in Denmark.
These additions come after the departure of Sofie Nordstrom, who recently completed a key overhaul of NFE’s operations and strategic planning.
Meanwhile, Zero Gravity Management and “Ozark” producer Mark Williams has come on board as showrunner on “Adidas: Impossible Is Nothing,” Juul’s previously announced TV series inspired by Adi Dassler, the innovator who built Adidas into a global force. The series explores the volatile bond between Adi and his brother Rudolf, whose split led to Rudolf launching rival brand Puma and a family rift that spans generations.
Other projects in the No Fat Ego pipeline include “The Glowing Man,” a biopic tracing the rise of Ole Henriksen from a small-town Danish dreamer to Hollywood’s skincare guru, which is being co-produced with Nordisk Film in partnership with global luxury leader LVMH; and “Ellen,” the true tale of
Ellen Nielsen, a single mother of six who, between 1943-44, stood against the Nazis during World War II and provided safe passage for over 100 Jews from Denmark to Sweden.
