‘Tomb Raider’ Producer Story Kitchen Renews First-Look TV Deal at Amazon MGM Studios (EXCLUSIVE)

Story Kitchen has renewed its first-look television deal at Amazon MGM Studios, Variety has learned exclusively.

Formerly dj2 Entertainment, Story Kitchen is currently producing the “Tomb Raider” live-action TV series in the works at Amazon from creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The company specializes in adaptations of videogames and other non-traditional IP into television and film.

“We are beyond thrilled to continue our incredible journey with our friends, fellow gamers, and partners, at Amazon MGM Studios,” said Story Kitchen’s Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg & Timothy I. Stevenson. “We look forward to continuing in our collective goal of telling great stories based on best-in-class games.”

Story Kitchen was founded in 2022 by “Sonic the Hedgehog” producer Dmitri M. Johnson and former agency partner Mike Goldberg, with veteran production executives Timothy I. Stevenson and Dan Jevons and creative executive Elena Sandoval.

Along with their work on “Tomb Raider,” Story Kitchen is currently working with Amazon to develop a film adaptation of the “ToeJam and Earl” games with Stephen Curry co-producing, as well as an adaptation of the hit game “It Takes Two” with Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions co-producing.

Story Kitchen is also a producer on “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft,” the Netflix animated series which is currently prepping its second season. Legendary Studios and Crystal Dynamics also produce.

Other projects in the works include: a “Split Fiction” movie starring Sydney Sweeney from director Jon M. Chu and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick; a “Just Cause” movie at Universal Pictures with Ángel Manuel Soto directing and Aaron Rabin adapting; “Ruiner” for Universal Pictures with Wes Ball directing and Michael Arlen Ross adapting; “Sifu” at Netflix with T.S. Nowlin adapting; “Shinobi” for Universal Pictures with Sam Hargrave directing and Ken Kobayashi adapting; and “Streets of Rage” for Lionsgate.
