Tom Cruise may be bidding a final farewell to “Mission Impossible” but he isn’t ready to say goodbye to his signature aviator sunglasses.

The 62 year-old actor arrived at Cannes Film Festival this week for the premiere of “Mission Impossible — The Final Reckoning,” the final installment of the multi-billion dollar franchise, wearing a custom three-piece black suit alongside his signature aviator sunglasses. Cruise in large part is responsible for the rise in popularity of the classic sunglass style after his character Pete “Maverick” Mitchell wore a pair of Ray-Ban RB3025 Aviator sunglasses in the 1986 film “Top Gun.”

In the 2022 sequel, “Top Gun: Maverick,” Cruise continued the trend by wearing the same model of Ray-Ban Aviators, a nostalgic detail for eagle-eyed fans.

Cruise doesn’t relegate the style to the screen, however. Aviators have been a signature accessory for the actor on the street and red carpets. While Ray-ban has long been the favored brand for Cruise, he opted for a pair of American Optical (AO) Original Pilot sunglasses for the premiere of “Mission Impossible — The Final Reckoning” this week at Cannes.

Plus, the exact pair he wore is available on Amazon for a (relatively) affordable $220. Meanwhile, the Ray-Ban Classic Aviator Sunglasses are also available on Amazon, currently on sale for $133.99.
