Taran Killam Joins Cheerleader Comedy Pilot ‘Stumble’ at NBC Alongside

3 weeks ago 3

Stumble,” an NBC comedy pilot described as “a mockumentary about the ridiculously high stakes competitive world of junior college cheer,” has added Taran Killam, Jarrett Austin Brown and Georgie Murphy to its cast.

They join previously announced star Jenn Lyon, who plays Courteney Potter. Courteney is “tied for the winningest coach in junior college cheer history” but “has a huge fall from grace when a ‘scandalous’ video emerges of her partying with her team, forcing her to take a job coaching at a small crappy school in a town with an unpronounceable name.”

Killam will play Courteney’s husband and high school sweetheart, Boone E. Potter. Boone is the football coach of Sammy Davis Sr. Junior college.

Brown will play Dimarcus, “the starting quarterback who leads the team in rushing yards and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.”

Murphy will play Sally, who “grew up in the foster care system before moving into her car at 18. Not a great cheerleader, but Courteney sees potential in her.”
