Nate Moore, a former development executive at Marvel Studios, is a castaway on Season 49 of “Survivor.”

A trailer for Season 49 that aired on CBS during Wednesday night’s Season 48 finale includes a split-second shot of Moore swimming in the ocean. Variety has confirmed with multiple sources that Moore did indeed participate in the season.

Moore began his career at Marvel in 2010, at which point the Marvel Cinematic Universe consisted only of “Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2” and “The Incredible Hulk.” He helped develop the screenplay for 2014’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” then focused on the MCU’s Captain America and Black Panther projects, with producing credits including “Captain America: The Winter Solider” (2014), “Captain America: Civil War” (2016), “The Falcon and the Winter Solider” (2021), “Captain America: Brave New World” (2025), “Black Panther” (2018) and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” (2022), as well as “Eternals” (2021).

In December, Marvel Studios announced that Moore would be stepping down as executive vice president of production and development to pursue an independent producing career, though he remains attached to Ryan Coogler’s upcoming third Black Panther film as an executive producer. Moore officially left the studio in March.

CBS has yet to announce the full list of cast members for “Survivor” Season 49, though Wednesday’s trailer included brief introductions to multiple characters. The season will premiere this fall.

In the spring of 2026, CBS will air the series’ landmark 50th season, which will feature returning “Survivor” players for the first time in years. A casting announcement will be made on May 28.
