Musical duo Sons of Raphael has released the full-length version of “Nights Are for Love,” the main title theme from Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino’s new ballet series “Étoile.”
The atmospheric dance-pop track was produced by Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk fame, and is out now alongside another Sons of Raphael song featured in “Étoile,” titled “At Dawn I Look for You,” via Bangalter’s label Alberts & Gothmaan. The series also pulls music from the pair’s 2021 debut album, “Full-Throated Messianic Homage.”
“Étoile,” the most recent project from Sherman-Palladino and Palladino — who are also behind the hit shows “Gilmore Girls” and “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”— released Wednesday on Amazon Prime Video. The eight-part series follows two world-renowned ballet companies in New York City and Paris as they decide to swap their most talented stars in an attempt to save both institutions.
“Étoile” stars Luke Kirby, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Lou de Laâge, Gideon Glick, David Alvarez, Ivan du Pontavice, Taïs Vinolo, David Haig, LaMay Zhang and Simon Callow, with Yanic Truesdale featured as a recurring guest. Sherman-Palladino, Palladino and Dhana Rivera Gilbert serve as executive producers, while Scott Ellis co-executive produces. The series has been given a two-season order at Amazon Prime Video.
Sons of Raphael is a musical project made up of brothers Loral and Ronnel Raphael. They most recently contributed original music to Sofia Coppola’s 2023 feature “Priscilla,” including the song “My Elixir,” alongside indie-rock band Phoenix.
