The hit History Channel survival series, “Alone,” is back for a new season, and this time, the contestants will have to fend for themselves in the wilds of Africa.

“Alone” Season 12 premiered on June 12 and airs every Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET/PT on the History Channel. You can watch “Alone” on TV with any cable package that includes the History Channel.

The new season of “Alone” takes place in South Africa, with ten amateur survivalists dropped off in remote locations in the country, with just ten survival tools on hand. The contestant who endures the longest and outlasts the others takes home a $500,000 cash prize.

Per a show description from A+E Global Media, South Africa’s rugged terrain and “unforgiving Great Karoo Desert” present one of the “most intense and dangerous locations in series history,” as the contestants face “total isolation, punishing weather, and deadly predators.”
