ESPN‘s much-anticipated new streaming service will debut in the fall, making one of TV’s biggest libraries of sports rights available to a generation of viewers who do not have a subscription to traditional cable or satellite service.
“It’s going to redefine our business, ” says Jimmy Pitaro, chairman of the Disney sports giant. Disney will offer the service on a stand-alone basis and also as part of a bundle with sibling services like Hulu and Disney+.
An “unlimited” plan that included all ESPN networks and ESPN broadcasts on ABC will be available for $29.99 percent .A “select” plan, which offers the current ESPN+ service will also be available. Disney will sell a full bundle of streaming services for $35.99 per month, but with an initial offer of $29.99 per month.
