Eli Roth, Miranda Cosgrove and Sosie Bacon are among the names announced as speakers for the Environmental Media Association’s upcoming EMA Impact Summit.
Running May 8 and May 9, the ninth annual EMA Impact Summit will focus on bringing together influential leaders to discuss sustainability. The summit will touch a wide range of topics, including how to move forward in the wake of the Los Angeles fires, the effect of climate change on health and the nonpartisan power of nature.
Cosgrove will lead the “Mission Unstoppable – STEM in the Spotlight” panel while Bacon will moderate the “Wild Horses” panel. Additional panels include “ClientEarth/SteadFast LA” led by Drew Scott, “Creative Loss with MOCA” led by Daniella Pineda and “Hands Across Los Angeles” led by Jenna Dewan. Freelance reporter Talib Visram will moderate “EMA Green Seal,” which will reference productions like “The Last of Us,” “A Minecraft Movie” and “The White Lotus” that have earned EMA’s Goal Seal for Sustainable Production.
“Out of the unthinkable devastation comes an opportunity to focus on the process of sustainably and safely restoring not just structures, but systems, mindsets, and of course, communities,” EMA’S CEO Debbie Levin said in a statement. “This year’s Impact is a reflection of that spirit: coming back stronger as a united front, with a renewed focus on prevention as we move forward. Sustainable production has become the norm, with green production practices now mainstream through the ever-growing and international EMA Green Seal program.”
Last year’s summit featured Hillary Rodham Clinton, Shailene Woodley and Rainn Wilson.
