Following last year’s event in Downtown L.A., AI on the Lot is coming to Culver City with an expanded three-day program.
Day one kicks off on May 28, featuring a full AI studio, tech demos, workshops, panel discussions, a startup showcase and a networking happy hour. Day two programming includes a generative AI lab, additional workshops and a filmmaker showcase. The final day on May 30 will feature a half-day of AI film screenings at the Culver Theater.
Two of this year’s keynote speakers include author Doug Shapiro and the director of media & entertainment industry strategy and marketing at NVIDIA, Rick Champagne. Shapiro will discuss how past trends in media consumption will shape how generative AI will disrupt future media creation. Champagne will give an overview of how AI is being used as a tool across the entertainment industry.
Logan Lawler of Dell’s Max AI solutions team will be running a workshop on AI model deployment and how to better prepare for the changes in workflows that AI will inevitably bring.
“As Hollywood writes its next chapter, AI brings cost efficiencies and creative possibilities worthy of the visionary spirit that Samuel Goldwyn ignited when he opened his Culver City lot in 1919, and that Cecil B. DeMille carried forward with his epic backlots in 1925,” said Todd Terrazas, executive director and president of AI LA. “This year in Culver City—the true heart of ‘Screenland’—we’ll gather industry decision‑makers to explore how AI can sustainably power the next generation of Hollywood infrastructure: driving economic growth, creating new jobs in the region and pushing our collective imagination forward.”
Tickets for AI on the Lot can be purchased on the event website.
