“A Man on the Inside” Season 2 is rounding out its main cast with nearly a dozen new additions.
Variety has learned that the following actors have joined the sophomore season of the comedy series: Constance Marie (“With Love,” “George Lopez”), David Strathairn (“The Bourne Legacy,” “Alphas”), Gary Cole (“NCIS,” “Veep”), Jason Mantzoukas (“Taskmaster,” “Big Mouth”), Jill Talley (“Mr. Show,” “Spongebob Squarepants”), Linda Park (“Bosch,” “For All Mankind”), Lisa Gilroy (“Interior Chinatown,” “Jury Duty”), Madison Hu (“The Brothers Sun,” “Boogeyman”), Max Greenfield (“The Neighborhood,” “New Girl”), Michaela Conlin (“Bones,” “For All Mankind”), and Sam Huntington (“Superman Returns,” “Being Human”).
Full character descriptions for the new cast members can be found below. They join fellow Season 2 star Mary Steenburgen as well as returning cast members Ted Danson and Lilah Richcreek Estrada.
Production on Season 2 is now underway. While exact details are under wraps, the second season will see Charles (Danson) undertaking a new investigation at a college.
“A Man on the Inside” Season 1 debuted in November 2024 to a glowing reception from both audiences and critics. The single-cam comedy remained in the Netflix Top 10 English TV chart for five weeks, while Danson received both Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations for his work in the series. Netflix announced the Season 2 renewal less than a month after it premiered.
The series is based on the documentary “The Mole Agent.” Mike Schur created the series and serves as an executive producer via Fremulon. Morgan Sackett is also an executive producer along with David Miner of 3 Arts Entertainment, Maite Alberdi and Marcela Santibañez of Micromundo Producciones, and Julie Goldman and Christopher Clements of Motto Pictures. Universal Television is the studio.
Character Descriptions
Constance Marie “Vanessa” – a former con-artist, serves as a part-time-source on the criminal underworld for Julie (Lilah Richcreek Estrada).
David Strathairn as “Dr. Cole” – Head of the English Department at Wheeler College, and the most famous and popular professor on campus.
Gary Cole as “Brad Vinick” – a successful businessman whose sizable donation to his alma mater starts a chain reaction that leads to Charles getting hired.
Jason Mantzoukas as “Apollo Lambrakis” – an affable contractor who dreams of writing the Great American Novel.
Jill Talley as “Holly Bodgemark” – is the overworked, perpetually-frazzled Provost of Wheeler College.
Linda Park as “Elizabeth Muki” – the director of the Fine Arts Department at Wheeler College.
Lisa Gilroy as “Kelseigh Rose” – a budding photographer, is the new wife of billionaire Brad Vinick.
Madison Hu as “Claire” – Wheeler College Junior who works multiple campus jobs to pay for her tuition.
Max Greenfield as “Jack Beringer” – the charismatic President of Wheeler College, whose job requires him to raise money from wealthy graduates.
Michaela Conlin as “Andrea Yi” – teaches economics at Wheeler College, and is excited about the changes coming to the school.
Sam Huntington as “Max Griffin” – a rabble-rousing professor of journalism at Wheeler College.
